Vocational Skills Aspiration

My name is Nura Jama Muse a member of Masno SHG in Akara IDP (densely populated area and it hosts some of the poorest families in Hargeisa). In addition, I’m 35 years old mother with six children four boys and two girls, the oldest daughter is 13 she’s lucky she’s grade seven now and the youngest son is only 2 years old. My husband is a carpenter and he’s casual worker.
In my past days I did not get the chance to go to school and I spent my time to work home and help my mother. At the time illiterateness wasn’t painful as I’m feeling now, because all girls were house workers they were washing their brother’s school dress and preparing breakfast, fewer girls attended to school.
Fortunately, I attended SHG literacy classes two years ago, though I was busy to my children I learned how to read and write, also I can easily calculate basic mathematics.
As soon as, Gargaar organization has started vocational skills training, I immediately registered Tailoring skill trainee. We covered different units so far, I hope I will gain the necessary skill from the training. I’m very confident that tailoring skill will help me to become self-employed.
Finally, my aspiration is about two ways, one is to create my indoor business at home and to be tailoring trainer for rest of the SHG members for income generation. This will increase my level of income to contribute my children’s education and health payments.
